DEGIRMENDERE BRIDGE
Built by the Nemlizade Family in 1891, the bridge is four arched. There is also one more arch for discharging on its western side.
Spanning the Kuzgun Stream on the south of Ortahisar district, the bridge survived to the present due to the repairs and expansions. Its first construction date stretches far back to the Roman Period, 1 century AD. Famous traveller Evliya Çelebi states in his travel book that this bridge was built by the Karakoyunlu Turkish Tribe. However, the bridge was given its last appearance by the Ottomans in the 19 century.
ZAGANOSPASA BRIDGE
Zagnospa·a Bridge links the Zindan Gate with the Imaret Gate. It has two arches, one on top of the other. Roman and Byzantine workmanship is observed on piers of the bridge. Historic records mention about the existence of a wooden drawbridge on the site of this bridge. Researchers reveal that the bridge consists of 4 construction layers. It was also repaired again after the repair of Zagnos Pasha in the 15 century.
